Khokovela and Cub

It is so special to see the bond between a mother and her cub grow. Khokovela and her cub were recently found playing together on some rocks in the Sand River.

The two felines spent a good time play fighting which teaches the youngster valuable defensive and offensive skills. Mom would pounce on the cub and in turn, the cub would stalk mom from behind small rocks.

Once energy levels dwindled, the cub moved over to its mother and started to groom her, pulling off ticks from hard to reach spots.

All of this activity looked far too exhausting for the little one. It gave one good stretch and then went to lay down in the cool sand under mom’s watchful eye.
