Temperatures haven‘t quite reached the usual chilly June evening and early morning depths and wildlife has revelled in the extra warmth. Surface water is evaporating fast, drying up remaining mud pans and increasing species and interspecies competition around waterholes.

Action on foot
“Walking trails are all about using the senses and absorbing oneself in all the small thing’s in the bush”, I explain to my South African guest Suzie and her friend Linda who is visiting from the UK. Both ladies are really keen to experience a walking trail.

Luring long necked lady giraffe
Here’s some slightly different behaviour we came across recently to entertain you this Sunday!
What better time for a young aspiring giraffe bull to “try his luck” than late on a fresh winter’s morning with warm sunshine radiating down on an attractive “older” oestrus female!
