Award Ceremony at the Dumphries Digital Learning Center
Leopard Hills, together with a few partner lodges in the reserve, work hand in hand with the local communities bordering the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Last year we saw the launch of the Dumphries Digital Learning Center in the Dumphries village. This educational center is a satellite campus run by the Good Work Foundation.
The Good Work Foundation run their core campus out of Hazyview and their mission is to challenge HOW we learn, WHAT we learn, and WHO has access to learning.
This learning facility offers school children and adults the ability to learn basic computer literacy skills, as well as improve their English and Mathematics.
This week the Dumphries Digital Learning Center, together with the Good Work Foundation, hosted their first award ceremony. This ceremony was for grade 4 learners who showed significant growth in their academic results after joining the academy.
The award ceremony kicked off with a lively, local choir. The ensemble consisted of staff members and students of the academy. This procession was concluded with a speech by the head master from the local primary school.
The big moment arrived and each scholar was called up to the front. One of the students gave a speech on behalf of all the students. They were awarded with a certificate and a sponsored back pack with stationary inside.
