Getting to Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Leopard Hills is located in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve on the unfenced border of Kruger National Park. Depending on your individual travel needs, you can choose a scheduled flight of road transfer to the reserve. Read on for more information on getting to Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
Getting to Sabi Sands by Air
There are flights available from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga International (KMIA) near Nelspruit. From here you can hop on a transfer vehicle or small private aircraft to Sabi Sands Reserve.
The fastest and most convenient option to get to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve is by making use of a scheduled charter flight from O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Federal Air serves almost all lodges in the reserve on a daily basis.
Helicopter flights to the Blyde River Canyon and Gods Window can also be arranged on request.
Getting to Sabi Sands by Road
Guests travelling to Sabi Sand in their own or a rental car will take the N4 national road approximately 450km. Including stops, the drive is approximately 6 hours.

The Sabi Sand has three access gates:
Shaw’s Gate: open from 05H00 to 22H00
Newington Gate: open from 05H00 to 22H00
Gowrie Gate: open from 05H00 to 22H00
Each gate serves different lodges. Please make sure you access through the correct gate when travelling to Leopard Hills.
Sabi Sand Gate Fees
Upon entering the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, you are required to pay ZAR 280 per vehicle. Further, an amount of ZAR 120 per person is charged.
These rates are inclusive of VAT and valid until 31 December 2019. From 1 January 2020 these rates will be ZAR 310 per vehicle (vehicle entry fee) and ZAR 140 (per person entry fee). Credit cards are accepted at all Sabi Sands entry gates.
