Leopard Hills Daily Itinerary

A safari to Sabi Sand Game Reserve is the ideal way to recharge and rejuvenate in the post-COVID world. There isn’t much in our opinion that beats being in the bush!

Take a look below at our daily itinerary at Leopard Hills so you know what to look forward to during your stay.

Summer 05h00 | Winter 05h30 Wake-up call

Guests wishing to go on the early morning game drive, will receive a chipper morning wake-up call at 05h00 in Summer and 05h30 in Winter.

As the sun rises slightly later in the winter months in the Sabi Sand, you can enjoy an extra 30 minutes of beauty sleep before your wake up call in winter.

Summer 05h30 | Winter 06h00 Tea & Coffee

Tea and coffee is served upstairs on the deck overlooking the waterhole before departing on the drive.

Grab a quick cuppa and catch up with your guide before heading into the bush on the first drive of the day.

Summer 05h45 | Winter 06h15 Game Drive Departs

Wildlife is often more active before the heat of the day, so it’s prime time for game viewing. In winter, be sure to wear warm layers on your morning game drive.

Leopard Hills’s experienced trackers and guides will keep you entertained with their knowledge and expertise and some incredible wildlife sightings. A highlight of the morning game drives is the hot chocolate and Amarula stop.

The morning drive lasts approximately three hours, depending on the game viewing. For the more adventurous, there is a bush walk available after breakfast, which offers an ideal opportunity to explore the smaller aspects of our environment; such as tracks, birds and insects.

Summer 09h00 | Winter 09h00 Breakfast.

(Option of a bush walk afterwards.)

Having worked up an appetite, you can now take full advantage of the delicious breakfast menu options back at the lodge.

During the time between your scheduled activities, you can relax and soak up the African bush and enjoy some game viewing at the active waterhole in front of the camp or from the comfort of your suite.

A range of pampering spa treatments can also be enjoyed in the Leopard Hills Spa or in the privacy of your suite.

13h00 Lunch on the Deck

Sit down to a scrumptious lunch overlooking the view from the deck. Lunches are served under big shady umbrellas, and are an occasion in themselves!

The team incorporates the best locally produced ingredients to produce cuisine that satisfies the taste buds.

Summer 16h00 | Winter 15h00 Tea, Coffee & Cake

Join your guide for a cup of tea or coffee and a sweet treat before your afternoon game drive.

Make sure to pack some warm layers for later in the evening, as the temperature is likely to drop in winter. If you’re unsure of what to wear, take a look at our safari packing list here.

Summer 16h30 | Winter 15h30 Afternoon game drive departs

Settle into your seat and enjoy an afternoon of wildlife spotting accompanied by your expert guide and tracker.

Enjoy a refreshing G&T and snack on South African favourites like biltong, nuts and dried fruits while you watch the sunset over the Sabi landscape.

Summer 19h00 | Winter 18h30 Return from your drive

Game drives return to camp between 18h30 and 19h00. You’ll have just enough time to freshen up before dinner or a quick drink at the bar.

19h30 Drinks in the bar | 20h00 Dinner is served

End the day with a fine dining feast in the dining room, under the stars in the boma or on the upper deck where a cool breeze offers reprieve from the hot African days.

Enjoy mouth-watering cuisine paired with good South African wine and great company.

If you’re celebrating a special occasion, a private dinner can be organized in the comfort of your suite.
