Snakes in all their glory …

On a chilly rainy morning in June we had Rick and his snakes come out to Leopard Hills to entertain Layn Phillips and his family and friends.

We welcomed Layn Phillips and his family back to the lodge yesterday.

Introductions are made and already everyone is excited.A Puff Adder was the first venomous snake introducedThe snouted Cobra not to be mistaken for the Spitting Cobra

We know of his and his son’s fondness for snakes so we asked Rick from Hazyview to come out and demonstrate and inform us on the snakes that live in our surrounds.

The black Mamba probably the most feared snake in AfricaImagine draping a black mamba around your neck?! It has to be seen to be believed.

It was a very informative and lively morning and we all definately learnt alot.

The albino python - what a snake!!Graham braved the python, he was the only one.

We now have a healthy respect for all things slippery after meeting a Black Mamba, Puff Adder, Boomslang , snouted Cobra and an albino python.

Marlise and her pupils with the python! This is no small feat as it weighs 30kgs!
