Tracking Course and Guide Assessments

The Guides and Trackers at Leopard Hills once again had the privilege of having Lee Gutteridge from the Entabeni Guide School to do our guide and tracking assessments that we do twice a year.

Hannes, Gary and I did another tracking assessment with great results. We learned loads and even saw the tracks of a Marsh/Water mongoose that havenā€˜t been seen in the reserve for more than 15 years. According to one of the trackers he has seen this nocturnal animal at least twice in the last year out side the reserve.

Our trackers Ronald, June and Abraham did a local guide assessment which is the entry level qualification to the world of professional guiding. Congratulations to Ronald and June for both passing this assessment with great results. Ronald thanks for teaching Gary and I about the symbiotic relationship between Blue Waxbills and Wasps.
