Wild dogs 2010

We were privelaged to have to dogs back for a few days…..
It is that time of the year that the wild dogs feed predominantly feed on the new impala lambs. Dave and i saw the dogs surround a herd of wildebeest and their calves.
The dogs tried hard to single out at least on of the herd but after a 10 minute struggle, mostly with the big males of the herd they left and went back to the impala lambs.
It just goes to show how instinct kicks in when animals are surrounded by a life or death situation.
